Internet Washer Spyware – What Is Spyware?

October 20, 2008

Spyware almost everywhere.

But do you know you have got it in the first place and how can it affect you?

The 7 reasons show how.

First, the spyware can look at and interpret what information you’re sending out onto the web. If you fill in a questionnaire, send information, engage in a poll, then it can look at what you’re putting in. This can convey a lot of information about yourself and your online interests.

Second, you may have had sites include themselves on your desktop. Ever had a different icon suddenly appear on your PC? At the very least the hackers are forcing their attentions on you in an illicit way.

Third, even worse, they could put a website into your favorites. Unlike an icon, it may take you quite a bit of time to realize you didn’t include it there. The hackers are relying on the fact that on the whole people have so many sites in their favorites, one more wouldn’t be noticed as unauthorized. So, if you go through, more damage could happen.

Fourth, following on from the first reason, all your computer activities could be monitored. This could be not only a one-off each time you go to separate sites on the internet, but the progression and actions of your browsing activity could be followed.

Fifth, your homepage settings could be altered without your knowledge. Not only that, you could discover it impossible to change them again.

Sixth, such software are permanent, it appears, so that they use up your hard drive capacity. This by turn slows down the speed of your computer.

Seventh, and worst of all, the knowledge that is got to do with you could be passed on and sold on to others.

Therefore, spyware is a definite infringement of privacy and something to be if at all possible avoided.

How?

From my individual knowledge and analysis, here are the best three methods.

Avoiding freely available downloads, unless you are absolutely convinced and feel safe about the website you’re downloading from. It appears too many of us grab freebies without enough thinking ahead.

Even better, have excellent quality spyware and virus cover. At best, the software automatically, or you by hand, need to scan your computer consistently, and that includes having protection for email too.

Yet, not every anti-virus software can catch totally every virus all the time. So, just in case, have good backup preparation on the internet or to at the minimum one separate hard disk; but preferably two and have one secure from fire and flood.

Of course, it’s common sense when you look at it. Unfortunately, what everybody knows does not always prevail.

This anti-spyware and anti-adware software has been downloaded millions of times. Make sure you read the testimonials!
